Welcome to Barncat Classic Maine Coon Cats
Where you will find the happy and healthy Maine Coon cats and Maine Coon kittens of Barncat Classic Maine Coons. We are hobby breeders of Maine Coon cats and kittens, located in Southeastern Massachusetts; just 15 minutes from Providence, RI and 45 minutes from Boston, MA. At Barncat we take breeding these magnificent cats very seriously. Our Cattery is FeLV, FIV, Ringworm and Parasite Free. All of our adult cats are tested for the HCM gene. Our focus is ALWAYS health first, temperament, and structure that conforms to the Maine Coon breed standard. The standards we follow are set by the major cat associations CFA and TICA. Our cattery is registered with TICA, CFF and TCA (the friendly cat association).
As breeders our goal is to consistently offer healthy, well bred kittens, in a variety of colors; without compromising the Maine Coon breed. We enjoy the challenge of improving our kittens and contributing to the Maine Coon pedigree. To do this we continually strive towards being a better breeder through education; always making great effort to use research and shared knowledge to produce the highest quality kittens. We take great care in the selection of our breeding cats and believe that a genetically diverse gene pool is an essential part of our breeding program. We look for qualities such as: health, exceptional type, wonderful expression, good structure, and great temperament. These qualities produce large, typey kittens with excellent health, wonderful temperaments, and longevity.
At Barncat we do not cage our cats or kittens, they have free run of the house as our beloved pets. We have two large outdoor/indoor enclosures for our cats. These enclosures prevent our males from spraying in our homes, ensures that our younger queens will not be bred, and allows EVERYONE fresh air and sunshine; while protecting them from predators. We love our Maine Coon cats very much and do NOT place our Maine Coon kittens with anyone who is not prepared to take good care of our babies and love them for the rest of their life.
We are a closed cattery, we do not provide outside stud service, we do not allow boarders, we do not allow any cat show exhibiting or handling of our breeding stock by visitors. By taking these precautions we eliminate any chance of contamination by bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc. We do not sell breeding kittens! We do not allow casual visits, buyers are welcome to pick up their kittens however if you are just interested in seeing pedigree Maine Coons we ask that you please visit your local cat shows.

Informative Articles
We do not over-vaccinate our babies, we follow Dr. Jean Dodd's minimal vaccination protocol. We also do not spay and neuter our Maine Coon kittens before they leave us, we believe that it effects the health and growth of our babies and it is not in their best interest to do so.
