Who “We” Are:

Melanie - Mother to Keira and Mother-in-law to Lindsey
Keira - Daughter to Mel and Sister-in-law to Lindsey
Lindsey - Me :-) You get the picture I'm married to Mel's son Joey :-)

Mel started Barncat Cattery, she always wanted a Maine Coon cat and when she got Callie quickly fell in LOVE with the breed. Keira and I jumped on board soon after because we just love these cats!! Here is the thing we are ALL dog people. Mel has Shiloh Shepard’s, Shiloh, Wyatt, and Sky :-) Keira has a Boxer named Tyson, he is such a ham! I have 2 Corgi pups, Gwen and Griffin and a Newfoundland Steeelllaa!!! SOOO we LOVE dogs.... and of course Maine Coons are just like dogs! Here is a little secret I'm not a cat fan at ALL, but something about these cats just do it for me. So when Mel offered my daughter Kaitryn a kitten from her 1st litter with Callie and Angus I said yes!

We are one cattery spread between 3 homes so that our cats get lots of love and attention, just like any regular pet would.  It allows us to have a diversity of cats in our breeding program without being over crowded. This keeps our babies nice and healthy!!

Here is a break down of where the cats live:
Sassy lives with me.
Callie, Willow, and Aspen live with Mel.
Sienna and Phoenix live with Keira.
Doogan, Merlin and Socrates live in a beautiful and LARGE indoor/outdoor enclosure at Mel's. Pictures coming soon!

When our males retire from producing BEAUTIFUL kittens they will be neutered and re-homed.  We only breed our cats for a few years because we want them to live the carefree life of a PET.  All of our males retire after 2-3 years of mating. Depending on the female the time line is the same, 2-3 years. Sometimes females are spayed sooner depending on how often they come into heat. We spay our females when they are done breeding and will be re-homed; except Sassy she will stay with me. But please check our website for upcoming females to be re-homed.

If  you are interested in an upcoming litter or retired breeding cat please email us. Depending where the litter is born or whom the retired cat lives with one of us will contact you. It is so very important to us that each of our babies gets a fantastic home. This Cattery is literally built on our blood, sweat, and tears and we want to share our hard work with you!
